FAQs - Drop & Go Day Camps

What cool activities do you have in store for my kids these school holidays?

The ‘drop & go’ day camps are programmed from 9am-5pm and offer a different theme each day – click here to see the full program line up!

How do I book?

Phone 8339 3333 during office hours or click here to book online at your convenience.

Is this for Scouts only?

No - Woodhouse is open to EVERYONE! Proudly owned by Scouts SA, we often refer to Woodhouse as being ‘the cellar door for Scouting’. Each of our facilitated programs offer you a little taste of the types of activities you would enjoy at Scouts… essentially being screen-free, making awesome new friends, getting outdoors and being active!

We will be there every step of the way to help learn some cool new skills, you do not need to have prior knowledge of the principals.

How much does it cost?

As above, you don’t need to be a Member… but it helps! Scouts pay a special member rate of $45 per day, general price is just $65. This price covers:

  • Full facilitation (generally a 1:9 staff to child ratio)
  • Delicious and nutritious, morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea (dietary needs catered to. We are nut free)
  • Use of Challenge Hill (weather permitting)
  • Equipment
  • One very good night’s sleep from a very exhausted (and happy) child
  • A lifetime of memories

What qualifications and clearances do the staff have?

Our team have years of experience working with youth and are all armed with the following:

  • National Police Check
  • DCSI Clearance
  • Catholic Education Clearance
  • Senior First Aid
  • Child Safe Environment Training
  • Mandatory Notification Training
  • Safe Food Handling

Will 5 year olds be doing the same activities as the 15 year olds?

Groups are generally split in age groups 5-9 and 10-15 (some days there is a 3 age group split) to ensure the activities match abilities and everyone has a great time with an appropriate level of challenge.

What if it’s raining?

We will keep the kids entertained rain, hail or shine! Every day is programmed with a wet weather contingency plan. We have several large indoor spaces at our disposal and will simply adapt the programs to stay indoors. Of course, a little water never hurt anyone so, where appropriate, we will continue outdoors as planned. If it is too wet, Challenge Hill will not be included in the activities for the day.

What is your cancellation policy?

Once your space has been reserved, the payment is non-refundable. However, you are welcome to transfer the booking to another child for the same day.

What to wear?

The children will be outside whenever possible, so please dress appropriately.

  • Closed toed shoes
  • Warm clothes
  • Rain jacket
  • Beanie/warm hat
  • Scarf
  • Gloves

What to pack (in a back pack)?

  • Full change of clothes, including shoes
  • Named drink bottle
  • Gum boots optional
  • In a back pack
  • Any required medication or medical action plan)
