REFLECTION | INDEPENDENCE | CONNECTION
Space to reflect. Courage to grow.
Time alone in the bush, away from screens, distractions and everyday noise, is often the part of The Rite Journey that students remember most.
Woodhouse Adventure Park sits on 54 hectares of Adelaide Hills bushland, just 25 minutes from Adelaide. We give schools running The Rite Journey a dedicated place for the Solo, with 40 individual sites, the camping gear students need and a team who know what the Solo involves.
A natural setting for personal growth
The Rite-Journey 24-hour Solo asks students to spend time on their own, look after themselves and sit with their own thoughts. Our job is to give them a safe and quiet place to do it.
Our 40 established sites are spread across the property, so each student has room to feel genuinely on their own.
Native bushland and quiet wooded areas replace screens and timetables, giving students the chance to slow down and notice what's around them.
Sites vary in terrain and access, so we can match locations to your group, including students with mobility or medical needs.
Every site is a short walk from bathrooms, so students will get to experience real independence without going without the basics.
LESS TO ORGANISE. MORE TIME TO CONNECT.
Getting a whole year level ready for a Solo shouldn't mean sourcing a truckload of tents.
We supply individual tents and roll mats. Students just bring a sleeping bag, pillow and their personal belongings.
We also provide Trangia stoves and run a lightweight cooking session, so students head out confident they can cook their own meals.
Experienced people. Thoughtful support.
The Solo works best when students feel trusted and the planning behind them is thorough. Our team helps you get that balance right.
Our staff have supported Rite Journey Solos for many schools and understand what students and teachers need for a successful program.
All staff hold current Working with Children Checks, first aid qualifications and Responding to Abuse and Neglect training.
We work through timings, supervision arrangements and back-up plans with your teachers well before you arrive.
Up to 40 students can complete their solo across 54-hectares of native bushland, with more spaces to come. Larger schools can rotate students across several nights. All sites are within a short walk of bathroom facilities.
Supervision post 5pm is the responsibility of the school. Woodhouse will assist in the facilitation of these checks, providing a detailed map of sites.
Woodhouse can provide food upon request, get in touch with our staff to discuss how we can assist.
Trangia cooking can still be facilitated during fire danger season under close supervision of the Woodhouse team.
