Autumn casts a special kind of spell on Woodhouse and the changing colours from week to week make it one of the most popular seasons to visit - and 'fall in love' with Woodhouse and the Adelaide Hills again and again.
Who doesn't enjoy observing the leaves on the trees and plants transform into multi-coloured works of art before finally falling away?
This season is perfect for taking brisk walks in the clean, crisp country air, taking beautiful scenic photos around the property and spending time enjoying the activities with loved ones for a day. Nothing can both relax and invigorate you more than combining nature at its finest with adventure.
Autumn is a great time to break out the jackets, coats, boots, scarves and hats in preparation for the change in season. It's also the ideal time to start making hot chocolate, lighting a campfire and toasting some marshmallows (bushfire danger season ends at the end of April!). This season creates the optimum setting for a sense of comfort, warmth and reflection.
It's also a GREAT time to go camping. While early sunsets aren't everyone's cup of tea, daylight savings ending offers stunning views of the sun in the sky during daybreak and is the perfect lighting for the all-important selfie after the early morning run through Challenge Hill.
And don't forget, the quaint townships of Crafers, Stirling and Uraidla are all less than a 10-minute drive away and offer a variety of delicious eateries and other attractions (plus, of course, a spectacular display of autumn foliage on the maples, oaks and vines.) We are just a few minutes from the lower carpark of Mount Lofty Botanic Garden, a true seasonal highlight.
Head for the hills this autumn - we have plenty of FRESH AIR TO SPARE on our 54-hectare nature wonderland! See the Visit Adelaide Hills website for more regional highlights for autumn across the Adelaide Hills, including the best places to admire the autumn leaves and pick fruit including apples and figs.
Did you know..? Woodhouse activities are included in your Day Activity Pass, Camping and Accommodation fee!
