1: IT'S SO CLOSE
While only 15 minutes up the freeway, you’ll feel a million miles away. If you forget something (or discover camping is not really for you) jump in the car and zip back home.
2: IT'S ONLY AS IN-TENTS AS YOU WANT IT TO BE:
Woodhouse allows you to drive your car right up to the campsite which means you can bring whatever you want: pillows, an air mattress, lawn chairs, and as much clothing and food as you want. And the Basecamps are located in all the prime camping areas so you have easy access to toilets and hot showers. Not that there aren’t many other beautiful, more secluded spots to explore if you’d prefer to ‘rough it’!
3: GET UNPLUGGED:
Yes, the internet is awesome and our smart phones and devices can be incredibly helpful and entertaining. Sometimes, however, it is amazing to be able to switch it all off and really live in the moment. Enjoy the people around you and the experience you are living.
4: IT'S A CHEAP GETAWAY:
Just $24-$27 a head per night includes access to the awesome onsite activities, showers, toilets and BBQ facilities. Grab a some drinks and food from the supermarket and you’re set for the weekend.
5: CREATE LIFELONG MEMORIES:
With so many different experiences to enjoy all in one space, this is truly an experience you will remember forever.
6: IT'S COMPLETELY ACCEPTABLE TO GO TO BED EARLY:
Your day will be action-packed, but things can wind down quickly once it gets dark… unless of course you end up talking around the campfire all night! Nobody can judge you for hitting the sack as soon as it’s dark. It’s also a great time to just sit back and read by headlamp in the cosy sleeping bag.
7: CAMPFIRES:
Campfires are an obvious perk to camping (of course, they are only allowed outside of bushfire danger season which is generally May-November). They smell great, help you to relax and provide some ambient lighting for whatever outdoor activity you have planned after dark.
8: DISCOVER THE ADELAIDE HILLS:
Woodhouse offers the perfect base to discover the beautiful Adelaide Hills. The quaint townships of Crafers, Stirling and Uraidla are all less than a 10-minute drive away and offer a variety of delicious eateries and other attractions.
9: IT'S NOT YOUR AVERAGE CAMPSITE:
Where else in the world can you wake up in your tent and jump on an obstacle course, weave your way through a giant split level maze, whizz down a Tube Slide or play a round of disc golf?
10: EVERYONE WILL BE JEALOUS:
The inevitable Monday question: How was your weekend? “It was alright, did some laundry, saw a movie Saturday. How about yours?” “Oh, I went camping at Woodhouse.” Honestly, who would you rather be? A weekend at Woodhouse not only shows that you’re fun and active, but you’ll definitely have some cool stories to share and your co-workers, friends or classmates will think you’re awesome.
