With spring on the horizon and warmer days ahead, the October school holidays are perfect for a screen-free family adventure. Woodhouse Adventure Park offers a fun-filled escape with thrilling activities and outdoor fun. Ditch the devices and spend some quality time together in our 54-hectare wonderland in Piccadilly in the Adelaide Hills.
1: TAKE ON CHALLENGE HILL
Gear up for an epic family adventure on Challenge Hill. Crawl, climb, swing, and splash your way through 30 obstacles. It’s not about speed but about teamwork—help each other through and celebrate your collective success. Kids under 5 may struggle with a few of the obstacles (certainly not all of them!) but fear not, there is plenty coming up for them!
2: FEEL THE ADRENALIN RUSH ON THE TUBE SLIDE:
Hold on tight and experience the thrill of South Australia's only Tube Slide! Imagine a waterless water slide where you zoom down 100 meters of synthetic slope in big rubber rings. It’s a wild ride with twists, turns, and plenty of excitement. Kids under 5 (or less than 1 meter tall) can join the fun with an adult.
3: BOND OVER ORIENTEERING & PHOTO HUNTS:
Unleash your inner explorers with a family orienteering adventure. Use maps to navigate trails ranging from 1.6km to 2.8km, solving puzzles and learning new skills along the way. It’s a fun, educational way to work together and enjoy the great outdoors.
4: REACH NEW HEIGHTS:
Take on Cameron’s Climb, a bouldering challenge designed for all ages. Perfect for beginners and seasoned climbers alike, it offers a thrilling introduction to rock climbing with an impressive arc to test your skills and courage.
5: NAVIGATE THE LABYRINTH:
Get lost (and found!) in The Labyrinth, a giant split-level maze filled with twists, turns, riddles. With options to either race through the 135m direct route or explore the extended 537m path, it’s a fun puzzle that we’re always changing, so you can never be sure you’ll know the way!
6: PITCH A TENT AND CAMP OUT:
At Woodhouse Adventure Park, pitching a tent becomes a memorable family activity. Watching your children take pride in setting up camp and mastering this essential skill will make for an enriching and rewarding experience and they’ll never forget their first night sleeping under the stars. If camping is a step too far for your family, check out our other accommodation options like glamping or chalets.
7: MASTER THE ART OF FIRE BUILDING:
Teach the kids to light a campfire (seasonally), roast s’mores, and share stories of the day’s adventures. It’s a classic experience that brings families closer and offers the chance to connect with other families around the communal fire pits, creating special memories together.
8: SHARE A DELICIOUS MEAL IN NATURE:
Whether you light up one of the gas BBQs available on site, bring a picnic, or cook over the campfire (seasonally), sharing a meal together in the great outdoors is a highlight of any family outing. After all the fun and adventure, you’ll have worked up an appetite, so pack a little extra!
9: GO KOALA SPOTTING:
Keep your eyes peeled for adorable koalas throughout the park. These fuzzy friends are abundant at Woodhouse, and with a bit of patience, you’re sure to spot one—perhaps even a baby! It’s a delightful way to connect with wildlife.
10: TRY DISC GOLF:
Give disc golf a shot—think golf, but with a frisbee! This unique sport is fun for all ages and a great way to wind down on a light-filled October evening after the park has closed to the daytime visitors. It’s a fresh and fun challenge that everyone can enjoy.
