WOODY'S CHALLENGE HILL
An obstacle course designed to bring people together as a team and challenge individual skill and bravery. Challenge Hills stretches people physically and mentally as they crawl, climb, swing and splash their way up and down the hill. It promotes strong team work and leadership skills. Allow 60-90 minutes.
This multi-dimensional structure is situated adjacent to the St George camping field in the centre of the property. Offering the perfect introduction to rock climbing and delivering the complete experience of what bouldering is all about, its imposing stance is highlighted with an arc, offering an appropriate level of challenge for everyone from young children to experienced climbers. Allow 10-25 minutes.
THE LABYRINTH
The world’s only giant split-level maze with a fun firefighter’s pole, a slide and two flights of stairs adjoining the 2.8m drop from top to bottom tier. There’s a 135m direct route from start to finish but the experience can be extended to 537m by finding quizzes and riddles at each of the 17 dead ends. The internal panels are interchangeable so the route is changed regularly to keep things exciting for return visitors. Allow 10-25 minutes.
Disc Golf shares the same joys and frustrations as traditional golf, whether it’s sinking a long putt or hitting a tree halfway down the fairway. Disc Golf players use a frisbee, which is thrown from a tee area to a target which is the elevated metal basket. Allow 30-45 minutes.
TUBE SLIDE (operates weekends and most public holidays - closed weekdays including during the school holidays)
As the only Tube Slide in South Australia, this is one of our most popular attractions. Think of a water-less water slide or a snow-free ski run where you slide down 100m+ synthetic slopes in big rubber rings that turn, accelerate, go up in bends and stop on their own. It’s fast, furious and fabulously fun! Allow 20-90 minutes. FULLY ENCLOSED SHOES ESSENTIAL!
There are eight orienteering courses professionally designed by the Wallarinaga Orienteers. Varying in length from 1.6 to 2.8 km, participants use basic map reading and navigational skills to find the posts around the property that spell the special answer and/or match the photos with the correct checkpoints. Allow 45-90 minutes.
Numerous walks available from Woodhouse lead to popular destinations including the Mt Lofty Summit, Mt Lofty Botanic Garden and Cleland Wildlife Park. The world-famous Heysen Trail passes through the property and hikers can walk in either direction, adjusting distances and time to suit personal preferences. There are also many valleys and scenic ridge roads that provide hours of walking pleasure.
